Nestled in rolling green hills, The Loch is a working farm, garden and guest house, located just a 5 minute drive from the heart of the historic town of Berrima in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Within the hub of the architecturally converted barn are four guest suites providing luxury self-contained accommodation, an authentic paddock-to-plate restaurant called the Tasting Room, and a farm stall selling freshly-harvested fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers, meat and eggs, along with house-made cakes, jams and chutneys and hand-restored antiques.
Our restaurant is open every Sunday from 10am to 4pm and no bookings are required for groups smaller than six. If you can’t make it to lunch, feel free to pop out for a coffee and check out our farm stall and beautiful antiques for sale. We also cater for children and invite them to participate in our garden nature hunt and have a play in our cubby house or simply roam around the gardens.
Come and enjoy a taste of country life at The Loch. Sitting above the original stables of the farm are four large, luxuriously appointed guest rooms, each with an ensuite and a captivating rural view, plus expansive open-plan living areas. Our unique, architecturally-designed accommodation features industrial design influences, with layers of Victorian opulence and echoes of the estate’s equestrian heritage.
Guests can reserve the entire luxury barn, with exclusive use of the kitchen and living space, or book an individual room.
Make use of the fully-equipped chef’s kitchen, designed by Brigid and custom-made by her husband Kevin, before serving up a feast at the long, timber dining table. Afterwards, curl up with one of our books or movies on the cosy lounges surrounding the fire, or enjoy a family game.
Rates include breakfast, with chef’s boxes available for other meals on request. The house is ideally suited to eight adults, however we also have pull-out beds for extra guests or children. Single or twin bed options are available by request. All rooms are equipped with a flat-screen TV and a selection of DVDs.
Guests of The Loch enjoy an authentic taste of Highland country living – foraging from the chef’s garden for fresh herbs and cooking up a feast of farm fresh produce available from the on-site farm stall on Sundays or from other local markets. Each bathroom features bespoke pieces unique to The Loch.
Located minutes from the beautiful village of Berrima, a pleasant 90-minute drive from Sydney or Canberra, The Loch is an idyllic weekend escape or corporate retreat and the ideal home base to explore the Highlands hamlets. On hand at the farm most weekends, Brigid is only too happy to suggest things to do and places to visit.
