Old Baan Baa School

Great spot! We only stopped for lunch and a look around. Beautifully maintained grounds and gardens. Karen very friendly and welcoming.

What a great spot. Karen is so friendly and the toilets and showers are the best and cleanest I have ever seen. Putting together a great museum of old equipment etc.

Unfortunately I believe this venue is temporarily closed due to Covid19 concerns. Will definitely be on our list of places to revisit.

This is one of those hidden gems - so glad we found it - ended up staying two nights. Karen and her husband have lovingly restored the old school and it's buildings and it is a museum as well as a B & B and campground. Sites are level - water is very limited as it is tank water only. Showers and toilets are immaculate and the ladies smells so fresh - very unique in this day and age. $5 per night per person and worth it. Very friendly welcome.

Every now and then you come across a site that is a real gem and the Old Baan Baa School is one of those. The site is private property and was bought 9 years ago as a derelict school and grounds and has progressively been converted into a campground/BandB. We only dropped in to take some photos for GeoWiki and were met at the gate by Mrs Haveachat as she introduced herself. What a delightful host, farmers doing it tough in the drought but so generous with her time. There are facilities but be careful with water as everything is tank water. Can not recommend this place highly enough, should be 6 star

Stayed there last night after the Rally, very good campsite, level, some shade and the school has been lovingly restored by Karen and her husband. No power or water but very clean toilets and hot shower all for just $5 per person. Don’t miss it.
