Lake Lonsdale is a large, shallow reservoir located on the Mt William Creek. It has a very large catchment area. The lake is seen as a key recreation facility for the residents around Stawell.
Camping on the northern foreshore of the lake is popular. Toilet facilities are available.
Dogs are permitted at lake. Swimming, water skiing and jet skis are permitted.
Camping fees apply, a patrol officer will call to collect camp fees and will issue you with a receipt. As at August 2015, the fee was $12 per night per camp (up to 2 adults, 4 children and 1 vehicle with trailer). Portable generators are permitted.

Currently camping at Diggers Rest East on Lake Lonsdale. It has access to the water (blue-green algae warning) and 3 pit fireplaces. No other facilities except extreme peace and quiet. And…… free!!
