Upper Yarra Reservoir Park and campgrounds is closed until mid 2021 due to Melbourne Water upgrade on the dam wall.  The works area encompasses Upper Yarra Dam Road, Upper Yarra Reservoir campground, day use areas, walking tracks and the reservoir embankment.  The park will remain closed to the public until mid 2021.  Upon completion of works public access to the park and its amenities will be reinstated.  Some improvements will be made to the existing facilities during the closure in order to enhance the level of amenity provided in the park.  For more information on these works or to register your interest in the campground facilities upgrade, please visit www.melbournewater.com.au, or contact Melbourne Water on 1800 560 622, or by email uydupgrade@melbournewater.com.au.  During this closure, for an alternative campground, please contact Parks Victoria on 13 1963.


Set in the peaceful high country east of Warburton, lies the popular Upper Yarra Reservoir Park - the upper most point of the Yarra River accessible to the public. The carefully maintained gardens and picnic grounds, encompassed by eucalyptus bushland and spectacular scenery, makes visiting Upper Yarra Reservoir Park a memorable experience. 


Follow the beautiful Fern Gully self-guided trail as it loops through tall eucalyptus forest with a dense sheltered ferny understudy.Enjoy breathtaking views of the reservoir and the surrounding catchment from the lookouts.Take a stroll along the Brimbonga Walking Track to the viewing platform and watch water flow through the reservoir's outlet basin as it begins its journey to Melbourne. 


Upper Yarra Reservoir Park is a great location for camping - spacious and relaxed.Facilities include toilets, hot showers, pay phone, large wet weather hall, hot water, camp kitchen, picnic tables and barbecues. 


Advanced bookings and payment are required. You can book online or call Parks Victoria on 13 1963.  Large groups are welcome, but must book in advance. 


The designated camping area is located down from the park office. It has a range of open and shaded camping sites situated on a grassed area.Most of the sites are located on gentle slopes due to the park terrain. 


There are several campsites that are reasonably level and relatively close to the carpark, toilets and showers. Access from these campsites to the toilets and carpark is over a grassed area with a slope.
