Moonta RV Overnight Stop - SA RVFT

Free Camping - South Australia

Donation Box onsite, 48 hr time limit applies, potable water available onsite, and pets on a lead permitted. Self contained caravans and motorhomes are permitted only.

Plenty of shade and grassed area, it has three entry points off bitumen onto dirt. There is a tap with potable water but no other facilities. I found it to be very quiet and only a short distance to the centre of town

Arrived today not knowing exactly what we’d find given the differing reviews and am happy to say that we are quite comfortable with this park. Certainly close to a lively little town centre with plenty of choice for dining from good take away, coffee shops to highly recommended restaurants which we will try later. Thank you Moonta. The provision of the adequate RV stop has enabled us to patronise several of your local businesses and I believe that is a win win. For those wondering about toilets. It is a walk of two blocks to Queens Park to the public loos so less than 10 minutes.

What a great spot. While this rest area is for self contained RVs only there is currently plenty of grass sites but no amenities. It is a short walk to town. Room for at least 50 RVs

We set up and headed directly to the Cornish Kitchen for lunch, being their famed pasties and not disappointed. To Moonta Bay to eat and watch the birds, what a great view. Moonta is a lovely town, mining history and interesting location. Donated at the Info Centre and registered our details. This ia a great site with overflow area open for hopefully solar power.

Disappointed with this one. A piece of grassed land with trees rds all round it. Grass was long, too many trees, dirt track into it blocked by a fallen tree. Yes there had been a storm, and it was holidays so guess it hadn't been cleared away. Will take another look next time up that way. Hopefully leave some posite feedback.

Good area, close to town, no amenities, donation box & drinking water at entry, next to a main road but we slept soundly. 10 mins from mine museum & historic mine train. Museum open 1-4 everyday subject to volunteers. train runs Wed, Sat, Sun at a cost of $12 adults, $5 children

Comfortable walking distance to all local shops and hotels. However, be careful of the gums. A local warned us that some have dropped branches.

very nice spot to stay. 5 minute walk to foodland and the pubs for meals. nice quiet area with plenty of room. close to public toilets as well.
