Barn Hill Beach Side Station Stay is situated on a Kimberley Cattle Station overlooking the Indian Ocean. Just 50m walk from the ocean, it offers beachside accommodation with a country atmosphere.

It is located 128km south of Broome, in North Western Australia, and is 9km off the Great Northern Highway.

There is always plenty to do at Barn Hill, including fishing, swimming, lawn bowls, bbq nights, a craft corner, bingo, beach walking, the list goes on.

At Barn Hill there are several different types of accommodation. Our primary accommodation are powered and unpowered sites for caravans and campers. As the peak season is a popular time to visit Barn Hill, it is recommended to pre-book a site. Bookings for this period must be made prior to the commencement of the peak season.

We also have centrally located rammed earth huts that are fully self-contained, each with a small fridge, cooktop, cooking equipment, one double bed and two single beds and ablution blocks nearby.

The Facilities at Barn Hill include:

  • 24 Hour Restricted Power
Dependent on location, but 4 amps sites have restrictions. Power at Barn Hill is restricted as we must generate power ourselves, but we allow the use of lights, TV, video player, fans, bread makers, fridges, freezers, battery chargers and other small appliances.
  • Ablution Blocks
  • Laundry Facilities
  • Bait, Ice, Bread, Milk & Basic Food Lines
Barn Hill has a basic shop containing most staples, also ice-cream, cool drinks, gas and an assortment of other basic supplies.
  • Mail Service
  • Mobile Phone Reception
  • Excellent Beach and Dinghy Fishing
  • Bush and Beach walking
There are some great sites to see, ask the Reception about walking to Barn Hill (the park's namesake) or Church Hill, or walking to 'The Pinnacles' (Barn Hill's own small version of this WA landmark.)
  • Lawned Bowling Green
Barn Hill's own bowling green is free of charge to be enjoyed by all.
  • Plentiful Wildlife
  • BBQ Nights
Once a week in peak season (May - August) Barn Hill hosts a communal BBQ at the bowling green. Bring your chairs, table and food and catch up with everyone, or enjoy a friendly game of bowls.

Amazing spot. Road is suitable for motorhomes, just take it a bit slower. Stayed in powered site, which is reduced amps, similar to a generator, but was fine. Showers were gas & hot. Beach at your door, which is just magical & sunset are next level. Fresh baked bread for sale every morning along with cakes. Has pizza available for dinner. Take all supplies, closest shop 140km away.

We love Barn Hill station. It has to be one of the best camps in Oz. The lady who runs it works so hard to make it a great stay. The bread she bakes and the vanilla slices are to die for, but you need to get to the shop early or you will never know. All good at Barn Hill. Helrayzers

Road in ok for all. Good area and very friendly staff. We stayed in unpowered generator section and great. Flies we’re a fair pain. Solar showers were hot in afternoon when you only wanted cold and cold in morning when warm / hot would be nice. Solar shower is only black plastic pipe on the ground. You could go to power area and have hot gas fired hot water. There are plenty of water taps around, but may have to share. Swimming great and beach just fantastic.

The road in is corrugated and not at all suited for 2wd vehicles. We found this camp very expensive at 28.00 p.n without power or water. Although there is a tap. Park has over 90 caravan sites and unpowered sites but toilets and showers no-way proportionate to campers. We came from North heading to Perth and we have stayed at much more lovely sites. On a positive. Beach is very nice and rock formations along this area are great.

Access is red dirt / sand for 10 kilometres, but very good condition with little corrugations. Facilities are very basic (no roof) but adequate, beach is superb and close, great for swimming.

Definitely worth the drive in on the 9 klms of sandy dirt to this unique spot. Shady powered sites & great unpowered overlooking the magnificent Indian Ocean. Short walk to lovely beach to either swim fish or explore the amazing coastline. Amenities always clean but rustic. Highly recommend a visit!
