Doolena Gorge

Free Camping - Western Australia

Follow the dirt track for 1.5km until you reach the free camping area on the banks of Coongan River.  Doolena Gorge offers an excellent vantage point to witness a spectacular sunset lighting up the cliff face and creating a red glow across the rock. This stunning display can be enjoyed from the banks of the waterhole. Alternatively you can climb the gully to the top of the waterfall for a stunning outlook.  A 4WD is recommended to explore the area.

Not well signposted but when you find the turn it is worth it. A rough dirt track but not accessible by all vehicles. The gorge is very picturesque and not crowded.

An absolute gem, tall vehicles should be very aware of overhanging tree limbs on the way in and a steep, deep washaway.
