We have stayed there a couple of times, It's free so don't expect to much, not a lot of shade in hot weather, good take away food shop just over the road, nice little town.
Stayed here for a couple of days after the annual Leyburn motor sprints with the very large area being dry but still sparsely covered with enough grass to keep the dust to a minimum as it was breezy at the time. It's a very quiet country town that makes travellers welcome and worthy of staying and supporting.
The toilet (single) within the campground was clean and in good order with water available alongside.
Showers are across the bridge, behind the tennis courts which are alongside the only store.

Nice grassy open area in quite country location.
Shane Webke ex Kangaroo prop owns the pub here though you wont often see him around. He has most of his jerseys up on display in the main bar.
This is an excellent stopover, very large area suitable for all size rig. There are basic toilets on site. Area is walking distance to shops and hotel. There is an abundance of bird life. Note current bridge access has a 6ton limit but is due to be replaced.
Lovely quiet camping spot, lots and lots of open space, with a handy local store / shop, just a very short walk over the bridge, with really good takeaway meals. I love the works burger, it is great value and is huge. The local historical pub and the RSL are in easy walking distance from this campsite. This was a Gold mining town in the distant past and still has historical points of interest.
Very tranquil and picturesque down by Canal Creek that borders the camp ground.
The famous Leyburn sprints happen here one a year and for the enthusiast it is a huge weekend where thousands fill up the camp ground and town www.historicleyburnsprints.com.au
