Visit the Melville Caves, which are huge granite boulders thought to have been once used as a hideout for the bushranger ‘Captain Melville’. This free bush camping area is great.
It is very large, fairly open and has plenty of shade on offer. It is a dirt surface with some slope to it. However, there is flat areas as well.
They have open fireplaces with BBQ plates but you need to BYO wood. You are allowed to collect ONLY dead wood from the ground. Do not cut down living trees please.
They do have non-potable water so you will need to BYO drinking water as well.
Here you will find toilets with disabled access, picnic tables, BBQ's and fireplaces. Dogs are permitted here. You will need to take all your rubbish with you.
The camping area is located 1km past the main Melville Caves picnic area.
