Scarness Beachfront Caravan Park

Caravan Park - Queensland

Enjoy staying in the hub of the Esplanade while waking up to the calming beachfront waters every morning.

Calm pristine waters front the park with sandy beaches ideal for the kids to play on with safe swimming all year round. Sea-lovers delight in such easy access to every possible aquatic pursuit, from sailing to water skiing, swimming to snorkelling, or simply sitting and watching the waves.

Please note as at August 2021: As the park is currently being upgraded the available sites will have no power or facilities available and only Recreational Vehicles, being registered fully self-contained motor vehicles, caravans or trailers, equipped with living space and amenities found in a home are permitted to camp on site.

Fishing is a popular activity with young and old, and the park's readily available beach, jetty or boat fishing options can almost guarantee a good feed!

Stroll across the street and you'll have your pick of shops, hotels, cafes and restaurants. Sightseers might want to delve into Hervey Bay's fascinating past at the Hervey Bay Historical Museum.

Nature lovers can enjoy a variety of day trips with bus pick-up for Fraser Island Tours, Lady Elliot Island Tours and Whale WatchTrips (July-November). You'll find yourself close to the largest shopping centres, as well as the cinema, great dining and entertainment at a selection of restaurants, cafes, hotels and Hervey Bay's ultra modern RSL Club.

Maybe you don't have a mind to do anything in particular - but what would a trip to the beach be without strolling the Esplanade with an ice cream cone, or throwing a snag on the park's free BBQ?

This council-owned park has undergone change (e.g. power removed!) and Council is still thinking about future development. No power connected to any site, and only some have water and sullage. Water and dump point available. Vans/motorhomes are supposed to be self contained. One older amenities block, but clean and functional. Sites are inexpensive, and the longer one stays, the cheaper it gets. Current management haven't been there very long and are doing a good job. The park is in a great, central location, right on the edge of the bay. Sites can be occupied by the same van for a maximum of 4 months, and this occurs for most of the sites connected to water & sullage during the winter months. Bookings are not being taken past Feb '22 while council decides the park's future.

A good but pricy park, spoilt by rude management and a lack of a decent Camp Kitchen. When asked if there was a Microwave available in the camp kitchen were told that we should just be grateful that were able to get into the park!!! Now thats a first grateful to take the money but not spend $99 on a microwave in the camp kitchen. There are better parks around Hervey Bay.
