Port Augusta Motorhome Park - SA RVFT

Private Campground - South Australia

Favourite

This is strictly for self contained motor homes and self-contained caravans only.  It is low cost and payment can be made at the front bar during opening hours.  It is located next to the Central Augusta Football Club.  Dogs must be restrained at all times.  Here you will find water and a dump point.  The club serves meals and beverages.  The surface is unsealed.

Note:  It used to be motorhomes only but recently they have been allowing self-contained caravans as well.

Unpowered  sites, complete paperwork from box on building wall, attach permit  to windscreen.

A donation is requested to use the dump point.

Large flat area, dump point and water available. Advisable to get in early as mentioned elsewhere. Stayed overnight Sat. Oh well, no complaints at $7/night. I believe the sports club do a good meal. We did a cook in meal in the van.. next time maybe.

This is such a valuable asset to this town, and well patronised. Shade if you are lucky, nice breezes and good water available. Well gravelled level ground, also close to laundry and car wash. Great pie shop in town.

Almost full tonight. Fenced and level. Potable water tap at the fire reel near the club house. When the club is closed, forms, envelopes place in slot on the back wall as per the sign. Only 500 m off the highway.

It is obvious the effect this Covid situation is having on tourism as this park is very sparsely occupied. We have stayed here on many occasions and never seen so few vehicles here. A great town with everything you need.

Very handy if self contained, especially if you have motorhome engine problems to sort out. Still $7/night or like us if you pay for 5 nights ($35) you get extra 2 nights for free as written on the information board. Meals at Sports Club are fantastic every Wed/Thurs/Fri nights only.

Still a great place to stay. The football club has new brochure for check in with very clear conditions, spacing 3 metres apart and generators able to be used until 9.39 pm. Fee for non-overnight guests for using dump point. A big thank you to the club for this facility for travellers

Good value camp with potable water, bins and dump point. VERY well attended, do not arrive late and expect a spot.

The dump point costs $3 to use if you are not staying there. If you have a large vehicle, then it may be easier to park outside and carry the cassette in.

The town is very quiet but travellers flowing. Only a few vehicles here tonight. The temperature may be the issue. There are works in town for another bridge across the water, which will help. Thanks for allowing us to stay here.

The location is fenced in and seems quite secure. On our visit we arrived at just before noon and the place was nearly full. And a few more arrivals later on and it was full up. The club has counter (pub) meals each night at reasonable prices. A dump site is located inside the yard. Potable water tap is also there, but you could have to line up in the mornings. The site is predominantly for self contained vehicles and no grey water allowed onto the gravel ground. The location is a 5-10 minute drive to the CBD. Too far for a walk.
