Turn off Stuart Highway and follow the unsealed road for approx 1km until you reach the free camping area. There are historical information here but all that is left here is some concrete slabs where historical huts/tents used to be situated.

What a perfect camping area, we are set up on a slab with shade and breezes. Only another two vehicles here and enough space to hold a rally. No facilities and also a bio-security area. Dirt roads so drive slowly.

For those who like to have lots of space this site is ideal. You can even park on the old concrete foundations. Be aware the ground can be soft in places after rain. There is absolutely nothing here apart from solitude. Like a lot of out of the way places be careful around old camp fires as people think it's OK to smash beer bottles in the fire. There was very little litter however apart from this.
