Wollomombi Campground - Oxley Wild Rivers NP

National Park - New South Wales

Favourite

Wollomombi campground is perfect for an overnight bush stop while exploring the falls country of New England by campervan. You might be tempted to stay a couple of days to admire the spectacular gorges and waterfalls of the World Heritage-listed Oxley Rivers National Park.  Pull up to this peaceful bush campsite and take a short walk to explore Edgars lookout which is easily accessible. Enjoy a barbecue lunch or dinner using the facilities at Wollomombi Falls picnic area nearby.  Work off your meal with a short but challenging walk along Chandler walking track and take in the majestic views over Wollomombi Falls. Brilliant after heavy rain, the moist air creates dazzling rainbows. If you're after slightly easier and longer path try Wollomombi walking track and be rewarded with views of picturesque Chandler Falls. Bring some binoculars for a spot of birdwatching. In the skies above, you might glimpse a wedge tailed eagle or the rare peregrine falcon. A little closer to ground the lyrebird will impress you with a flamboyant display.

No issues getting a 24' caravan parked, and over half of the sites looked perfectly suited for big vans. Maybe it's been renovated recently? Sites are beautifully level, fire pits all work as intended.

Adding to my previous comment. Each of the 10 sites has a fire pit, b.y.o. wood. Nice drop w/c. Sites around a circuit.

Fantastic camping! Several campsites with BBQ's at every campsite, with hot plates. Good bushwalking here too. Come and enjoy it.
