This free overnight rest area is located just off the highway on the southbound lane. However, it is accessible by both north and southbound traffic. It is located on the dry Lake George. It is bitumen with a large roundabout to aid your turning circle. It has covered picnic tables and dogs are permitted. It is named after Victoria Cross recipient Peter Badcoe who died in battle in 1967.
