O'Hares Campground - Kosciuszko National Park

O'Hares campground in Kosciuszko National Park was a former Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Scheme site. Today, it provides convenient boating access to the southern end of Talbingo Reserve.

This peaceful campground is surrounded by eucalypt forests, mountain gums and peppermint trees, and offers lovely lake views. Here, you’ll also find picnic tables, wood barbecues, non-flush toilets and a boat ramp, making it a convenient family camping spot.

This is a great spot to pitch a tent and take advantage of all that Kosciuszko National Park has to offer, as well as to enjoy paddling, sailing, boating and fishing on the nearby reservoir.

Getting there: O’Hares campground is in the western precinct of Kosciuszko National Park. To get there:

  • Travel 46km east of Tumbarumba on Tooma Road, and then Elliott Way.
  • Follow Elliott Way north for 24km from Cabramurra

Facilities: amenities block, picnic tables, wood barbecues (bring your own firewood), boat ramp

Water supply: Boil all drinking water collected from Talbingo Reservoir for at least 5-10 minutes.
