Tarlee is a tiny town at the beginning of the Gilbert Valley, 85.2 kilometres North of Adelaide. The town is the commercial service centre for a mixed but primarily wheat farming region, and is within a short drive of the classic wine producing areas of the Barossa and the Clare Valley.

Tarlee Recreation Ground offers an affordable $10.00 cost per vehicle per night and is payable at the post office or honest box on-site. Parking is a seven night stay or by negotiation. Bins, toilets and water are available at this destination and the site is accessible seven days a week. 

A short 16.4 kilometre drive to Kapunda may interest RV travellers visiting this area. Kapunda is Australia’s oldest mining towns, the first sight you see is that of 'The Big Miner' and the entrance sign. Some other interesting sights to see are the Kapunda mine trail, Kapunda historical society museum and the Kapunda ghost crime tour.

Once again a nice town oval to park, there is even power if you can park close to the shelter.

This is a great campsite at the recreation ground. Plenty of areas to stay either side of the gate as you drive in however some lower areas are boggy. Big rigs will have no problems getting in. Toilets are good and clean. Bins and tap water available. Donation requested for overnight however $10 per night for power if required. We didn't need it. Payment for power at post office. Power points in locked cabinet. Donation box is alongside toilet block.

Nice, peaceful place as always. Make sure you leave a donation in the box if unpowered to ensure it’s future access. Toilets,water and dogs allowed

Great spot to rest up overnight after we rode our bicycles for 3 hours along the Riesling Trail up at Clare. Clean toilets and lots of room around the oval. Donation box is next to the large shed near the entrance to the recreation grounds and overlooking the oval. $10 for power, donations please for camping without power. Grounds have a small play ground for the kids.
