Site selection is critical but an very enjoyable experience! Drive through sites are preferable to those around the edge in Echinda.

A very nice resort with friendly staff and excellent facilities. Lots of opportunities are available to ensure you get the most out of your Taka Time... literature, excellent talk about the gorge, happy hour, roast dinners available etc. Only drawback for us was the fact we were on an excellent unpowered site for the first night (Orchard 1) and then to a very dusty and tight powered site (20) for 2 nights!

Nice Campground and 2 km from Carnarvon Gorge. Facilities could be a bit cleaner. Quite pricey at $59 a night.

It is a beautiful campground. Many people have motorhomes and camper vans and have to pack up to drive the 2km to the Visitor Centre. Perhaps a shuttle bus to and from the visitor centre running on the hour at certain times of the day would be a great inclusion considering the high cost of staying here.

A great location close to the gorge. Amenities were great. The camp kitchen huge and each camp area has a communal fire pit. It had quit a unique happy hour experience at the reception (no spoilers) and at 5pm each day a presentation is given about all the walks you can do in the gorge. Wildlife abounds - we saw grey kangaroos, pretty faced wallabies, and echidnas - all only 10 meters from our van. There is a creek (flowing even in the middle of the current drought) and a large swimming hole (one of two in the national park). It's not cheap, but after hiking the gorge all day it was great to have our home 5 minutes away.
