This max. 48 hour rest area is suitable for self contained motorhomes and caravans only. It is located next to the jetty and is grassy, open and large. Here you will find toilets with disabled access, cold showers, water at the picnic area, picnic tables and dogs are permitted. It is a good fishing spot and there is a boat ramp here to launch from.
Please note: A $15 fee applies, ticket machine for permit (which must be displayed) is situated by the red welcome sign.
We are enjoying the special offer for this RV park: three nights for $10 for the month of October only. The jetty fish and chip shop is open, serving great food. Thanks Kingston SE.
This is an excellent camp site, near the beach and close to shops. The Haven fish shop by the Lions Park does the best fish with the crunchiest batter ever. The ticket payment system works well, actually printing the exact day and hour you are due to depart. Very friendly town and the temperatures here in summer are great, but can be windy. Great walks, the Big Lobster, and lovely bakeries. A camp site with all facilities required, grassy and flat.
Following our recent stay and after reporting to the Council about the poor cleanliness of the toilets and the fact that there now was a charge for staying at this nice park I received a phone call from the Council about a week later. They apologized and advised that the cleaner had been dismissed due to poor performance and that a new cleaner has been appointed. Well done Kingston Council!
We returned to this town to join in Australia Day celebrations and were warmly welcomed by the Lions Club who provided a lovely breakfast, especially berry pancakes. The RV park was full and the weather perfect and cool. A lovely service and well attended. A big thank you to this community and we also enjoyed the kite flying on the beach.
Last time we stayed back earlier in 2017 was free. This time the Council has put in a ticket machine with a fee of $10 for up to 2 nights stay. That was OK with us as there's lots of space and it was all grassed areas. However the toilet cleanliness was well below par.
The Crown Inn pub has a free pick up shuttle for dinner which was great. The staff were really friendly & nice. The food selection was good and the food was as expected in a country pub. But a good offering from the locals for travelers. Will return again.
Another Australia Day with this fabulous town. Such generosity including the campers in the RV park to join them for breakfast and ceremony. Rain came over during the service but made little difference to proceedings. Our starter battery died whilst at the dump point but RAA to the rescue. Many thanks to Kingston SE.
being the warmer weather now the grass has mostly died off. prickles and burrs galore, unfortunately. still a good location
Stayed here several times. Very popular, close to the pub and other facilities.
This free park was in really nice condition with most of the area covered in lawns. Plenty of room to park and move about. It is located next to the beach and jetty. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Garbage and Re-cycling bins are conveniently located in the middle of the park.
Lovely spot for a 2 day stayover. The only problem was finding the potable water. It is located on the traffic island/picnic area between the toilets and fish & chip shop. Because there is parking on both sides of the traffic island, the sign is somewhat obscured at times.
A great location close to dump point and toilets as well as local food and hotels. We paid our ten dollars and had 3 nights accomodation. Since October the council has granted one, two or three nights for $10 a great spot not to be missed in your travels.
Just to add to others, likewise found this provision of RV park excellent. Large flat area suitable for all rigs. $10 ticket for 48 hrs with time of departure on the ticket. Public toilets very close by, as is the Pub and the town, all within walking distance. Across the road from the beach. RV potable water tap and DP also provided with easy access. Free Wifi.
price remains at $10 for 72 hours. perfect all round spot for the town. well maintained lawns and public toilet. bit windy but not excessively so
Council seem to have been continuing to improve the site. Lots of room and lovely level grassy site with clean toilets. It is right on the sea front which gives lovely views but we had extreme winds when we we there and thought the van might even be blown over, well it felt like it anyway.
price has risen to $15 from $10 for the 72 hours
Lovely place to stop. The new ticket machine is good. If you only want to stay one night it is still $10.
Nice popular area to overnight walking distance to main shopping in town and cafe fish and chip shop at the jetty. Can be a bit exposed to the weather at times. Site can be crowded.
Lovely spot on the foreshore opposite the Jetty and Kingston’s famous Fish and Chip shop. It has now changed to having a machine to pay $10 for a maximum of 48 hours. But this makes it extremely great value. Fresh water and Dump point is down the street . This is certainly an RV friendly town.
about 20 vehicles here tonight. absolutely a top spot. good meals at the pub also
An excellent place to make a stopover. $10 for 3 days (or 72 hours). The whole park (aka Lions Park) is beautifully maintained. If you need potable water, fill up just prior to coming into the site. Great spot !!
Enjoying having the park open again; council have extended the area and laid road base through the camp. A big thank you.
