Heartbreak Hotel Caravan Park

Caravan Park - Northern Territory

The Heartbreak Hotel at Cape Crawford near Borroloola has accommodation is fun and handy to the regions spectacular attractions with "The Lost City" just down the road.  You can fill your car up with fuel here as well.

Or if you feel like a swim you can cool off in the nearby beautiful Poppys Pool or the Mataranka Thermal Pool.

The hotel food is great, the beer cold and you'll find the friendliest bunch of people you'll ever come across!

30 hotel rooms await guests each simple air-conditioned room features either a single/twin/triple beds with an optional fridge, so there'll be no need to worry about your longneck going hot! In order not to be disappointed book a room in advance.

There are 44 Powered sites in operation, all with taps nearby so you can benefit from our endless supply of clear drinking water. Enjoy our green lawns and park under the shade from one of the many trees to be found in the caravan site. There are heaps of spots to put your tent down for the night and an endless sky of stars to watch over you.

We do not allot slots on the powered, so the earlier you arrive the greater choice you will have. If you do arrive early and want to explore the area feel free to ask our reception staff who advise on the best places to go and how to book Lost City Tours.

There are 4 amenities blocks on site, all with hot showers and toilets which are signed Mangoes or No Mangoes and as I do you will always remember your first outback shower.  Coin operated washing machines are available in our Laundry room with ample line space to dry your clothes in the Territory sun.

Not bad for $10 per person per night unpowered. Although not a lot of shade in the unpowered section. Cattle have obviously been all over the site but surprisingly few flys. Facilities are a bit dated but there is a for sale sign out front. Fuel prices were reasonable. You can hear their generator but it is the outback! Food was average we did not bother.

A small oasis after a long drive on the mostly single lane ‘highways’ from either Daly Waters or Barkly Homestead. Shady powered drive through sites. Refreshing swimming pool and lots of wonderful birds. Amenities a little tired, but good showers. Friendly staff and food seemed popular. Licensed roadhouse. Heartbreak name seemed appropriate when we arrived as generator not working so nothing else was, including fuel pump, but as promised, it was fixed in a few hours…but that is all part of the adventure of outback travel! We were self contained so not really a problem. Highly recommend if you need to stop there.
