Somerset Park Campground is nestled at the foothills of Somerset Village. The grounds are at the banks of the Stanley River which is dammed by Wivenhoe Dam – just below the Somerset Dam wall. Access to Lake Somerset is via the “Spit” which is located 2 km up the road and offers public boat launch facilities.
Somerset Park is a very tranquil location during the week with large gum trees offering shade and lush green lawns year round; on the weekends it is very popular with powerboaties for watersking or wakeboarding and jetskiers.
Lake Somerset is also famous for its fishing grounds. Each year, there are National competitions for Yellowbelly and Bass fishung on Lake Somerset. Redclaws as big as Lobsters are caught here regularly.
Here you will find spacious grassy areas with toilets, hot showers, water, disabled access, picnic tables, BBQ facilities, fireplaces, generators allowed, convenience store. Pets are not allowed. The showers are $1 coin operated.

Very well maintained park, relief caretakers very helpful and make you feel welcome with the odd chat. If I am going this way in future this would be my first choice for a stop off.

The campground has friendly managers and the grounds are well kept. The facilities are clean and a hot shower is always welcome. The view is fantastic over the water and there is plenty of wildlife to see. Definately recommend this spot!
