Coxs Windmill Campground - Ngarkat Conservation Park

Enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Ngarkat Conservation Park and take in the views over the park's 270,000 hectares of vegetated sand dunes, mallee and heath.The park abounds in wildlife. Look out for western grey kangaroo and emus and more than 120 species of birds. You may spot a rare malleefowl walking slowly among the trees.

A number of walking trails give you the opportunity to see the wildlife and get a better appreciation of the vast mallee landscape. Enjoy the magnificent views from Tyms Lookout along a 2-3 hour hike. Early attempts to farm this country failed as seen by the ruins of early European pioneering settlements at Box Flat.

Accessible by 4WD vehicles only, this campground is great for those wanting isolation with six small nooks. Get away and hide amongst the mallee vegetation. These campsites are flat, sandy and well shaded sites. Access 4WD only. Suitable for tents only. Facilities, fire pit. Campfires allowed (seasonal fire restrictions apply). Number of campsites, 6 allocated campsites. Electricity, unpowered.

Good camp site, relatively level. No phone reception at camp, but you can get a basic signal by walking a few hundred m to the top of the nearby hill. No bins, take your rubbish with you. No toilet, make sure to use your shovel ;) sites are20-40ish metres apart.
