Clarence River Wilderness Lodge, just 3 hours from Brisbane is situated on the headwaters of the Clarence River in the rugged Great Dividing Range. Four thousand hectares of river crafted country has been preserved in a wildlife refuge that is noted for the diverse abundance of its native animals and the wild splendour of its scenery.

There are a number of different accomodation options provided at Clarence River Wilderness Lodge, from simple bush camp sites through to the recently renovated self contained cabins.
Activities include bush walking, canoeing, snorkelling, four wheel driving, bike riding, gold panning and looking at wildlife.
If camping by the river and waking to the sounds of the magpies warbling or rising early to spot a platypus are what you have in mind for your next wilderness camping holiday, Clarence River Wilderness Lodge is the place for you.
With only a limited number of campsites available you will definitely see some native wildlife and be able to enjoy your own piece of paradise.Composting toilets and solar powered hot showers mean your holiday can have minimal impact with maximum comfort. There are established campfires and you can collect wood from around the property or purchase it from the lodge.

If you're after an ultimate wilderness camping experience Clarence River Wilderness Lodge has a number of extra special secluded camp sites. It is possible to imagine there is no one around for miles. From your special spot in the bush you won't see another person.It is a requirement that you bring your own toilet and shower facilities for these campsites. Cost:Per person: $6
**Important information on how to get there!! Don't follow your satellite navigation system and they have been known to increase the length of your trip by up to THREE HOURS**
Please follow the instructions below:
Coming from the North:Follow Mt Lindesay Highway from Beaudesert. At Woodenbong turn left to Urbenville. At Urbenville veer right to Legume. Don't turn left to Tabulam. Follow this road for 12 km. 500 metres after crossing Wallaby Creek Bridge turn left. Sign says "Glengarry", "Paddy's Flat Road". It is 15 km to Tooloom Bridge from the turn off. From there Tooloom Bridge to our gate is 9 km. From the front gate to the Lodge is 7 km of rough track.
Coming from the South:Follow Bruxner Highway from Casino to Tabulam. From Tabulam head west towards Tenterfield another 3 km. Turn right up "Paddy's Flat Road". Follow Paddy's Flat Road 28 km to Paddy's Flat Bridge. After the bridge the road crosses a grid and you then follow it up the hill another 7 km to the front gate. From the front gate to the Lodge is 7 km of rough track.
N.B. The last 7 km of road into the Wilderness Lodge is a private road that descends 500 metres in 2 km and is consequently steep and rough in places. If entering with a 2WD it would need to have reasonable clearance and NOT be towing a trailer. Using low gear is recommended. The Clarence River Wilderness Lodge offers a tow in and out service for trailers at $30 per trailer per trip.
