Daly Waters Pub Caravan Park

Caravan Park - Northern Territory

Bill Pearce, a local tin miner, and his wife Hennrietta, in 1930, built a store to service travellers, settlers and drovers and later air passengers en route to London. The Pub was given a jug license in 1938.  Today, the pub is still a welcome destination for travellers. The pub is renown for it's service, hospitality, great food and cold, cold beer. Memorabilia adorns the walls from Irish football jerseys to bras. Wherever you look there is something interesting to read or ponder its origin.

The pub is situated approx. 600kms south of Darwin and 1000kms north of Alice We are in the middle of somewhere. It is well sign posted and you need to turn off the Stuart Highway onto a sealed all weather road to find us.

We are not a roadhouse, we are ' THE PUB '( voted 1 of top ten pubs in Australia).

There are 6 beers on tap and a wide variety of bottled beers, ciders and udls. The tap beer is icy cold. In addition we have an extensive wine list including a cellar selection.

  • Separate tent and camper trailer sites
  • Drive through sites
  • Sites for over sized rigs
  • Resident caretaker

Please note: the campground does not have a dump point, but there is dump point located 200 metres down the road.

Unpowered no shade unless you have a tent then you can camp on the grass. But hey you come here for the atmosphere, beer and food if you want a 5 star resort then you've come to the wrong place.

Vastly improved since my first visit (RAAF) in about 1984. Then much bigger than it was 8 then 4 years ago. Busy as a beer hive, GR8 food & good entertainment. Denise and I enjoyed our stay.

Clean tidy park and friendly staff

Great facilities, individual shower toilet ensuit units. Pub has a music playing every night during the dry season. Meals are either a la crate or "Beef & Barra special $31 each. Your choice steak or Barra or steak & Barra or salad plus help yourself to the salad bar.

A repeat visit for us but consider it a worthwhile destination for the atmosphere. We needed to get here early to get a powered site but very happy with the location, more shady trees than previous. New owner is very much a presence with his dog, goat and horse who accompany him. He has expanded the unpowered sites and provided facilities. Great place to visit.

A good pub with great atmosphere & live music every night. Basic amenities. An unpowered dusty site packed in like sardines. Worth a look as a day visit but we wouldnt stay here again. Over crowded & over rated.

Our first stay at this iconic pub and we were not disappointed. Staff were friendly and food was good. I was surprised at the lovely pool area which I didn't notice until we were leaving. Will definately be calling in again in our next trip to Darwin.

Great place friendly staff and very helpful

This is an iconic pub with a great atmosphere. The food is excellent, but pricey as are most things. Thre are good showers and toilet facilities. The laundry consists of one machine. The park itself is well organised, but you are packed in like sardines, and it is very dusty. Good as a one night stop over, but I would not want to stay for longer.

Stayed there recently. New owners have plans to improve it. Planted new trees. Staff were friendly. Meals were great.

No unpowered sites for caravan now. Dust bowl. Better stay at roadhouse on highway.
