Richard Best Memorial Park at Warra

Rest Area Overnight - Queensland

This is a terrific overnight for those interested in history as you can have a look at the remains of the railway that has been preserved. It is located opposite the Memorial Hall on the northern side of the highway.

Here you will find toilets with disabled access, water, BBQ's, fireplace and BBQ facilities.

We stopped here overnight in late October 2016 on our way to Carnarvon Gorge. Plenty of room toilets were adequate and by parking behind the old station building we were shielded from the road and most of the noise. There is a small tarmac area at the front where most through traffic stop to use the facilities but by going down the side street 50m you can enter a large flat drive through area behind the station building and some tree cover and we found it quite acceptable for noise and space. We would definitely recommend it for a one night stop en-route

Great little place to rest the head. Across the road from the pub (they only had a schnitzel happening when I was there) Clean and tidy amenities. Children's playground. I enjoyed it.

Very easy to get to great spot.

Great spot, good toilets, picnic tables, Bbq, TV coverage. Heritage buidings. Plenty space. Popup coffee van in am. Truck noise from Warego didn't bother us.
