This free camping area has is located on the banks of the Murray River.  It has a maximum stay of 7 days.  It has a boat ramp to launch from and is good for swimming, fishing, kayaking and boating.  It is scenic and photo buffs will love the birdlife here and sunsets.    It is a large bush camp with plenty of shade if desired.  There are no facilities so you will need to be self sufficient.

From the Waikerie Visitor Information Centre proceed to the Roundabout and take the fourth exit onto Crush Terrace. Continue on this road for roughly 100m and turn RIGHT onto Ian Oliver Drive.

Travel roughly 1kms along the Sturt Highway and turn LEFT at the crossroads onto Holder Top Road (near the Gliding Club)

Continue for 1.3kms and turn LEFT onto Holder Bottom Road.

After travelling a short distance you will see a sign for Gravel Road then Holder Bend Reserve.

Turn LEFT onto dirt track which leads to River frontage.

Camping area, some shaded areas, refuse bin, boat ramp, dogs allowed, 7 day camping limit.

What a special scenic aspect this camp site has on the banks of the Murray River. There are zero facilities and all rubbish needs to be taken away with you. The area is not really level, however, the serenity and delight of the river is worth being here. We have camped here a few times and it is a favourite place to return. Waikerie township is only a few kilometres away with everything you need.

Good bush camp mostly level ground and has room for big rigs.

Great spot to free camp, pick your spot, but don’t camp right on the boat ramp, this area is for pick up and set down of people heading out on the river or to the ski club across the river. Take your rubbish with you. Gets *extremely* busy on long weekends. Off season is relatively quiet.
