Shindys Inn

Private Campground - New South Wales

Shindy's Inn is a unique Australian hotel in Louth NSW, situated on the banks of the Darling River. In the great tradition of Australian Outback pubs it's a wonderful place to spend some time - with terrific meals, good company, the best potato chips for a hundred kilometres and plenty of much-needed cold beer! And your hosts, Cath and Dave Marett, will make you feel at home.

The inside of Shindy’s Inn is just as impressive as the outside, with artefacts on the walls, photos, and memorabilia; and outside you'll find seats under shady trees, surrounded by the greenest of lawns.

Our dining room comfortably seats 30 and we can seat up to 100 under the trees and on the verandah. We can cater for tag-along tours and buses with a pre-set menu upon application.

Come and view our collection of local memorabillia and photos in the Dining Room and Bar. Kick back and relax on the Shindy lawns overlooking the Darling River, and visit the Mary Matthews monument at sunset and watch the granite cross glow. And if you're around at particular times of the year you can help us celebrate our local events.

Louth also has an active Fishing Club and we're the only town on the Darling that releases native fingerlings. Join us for our regular fishing challenges and 'Carp Busters'.

And if you'd like to stay for a while we have powered and unpowered sites on our large, shady lawn and two beautifully-situated and fully self-contained cabins that sleep up to six.
