Please note: this is suitable for 4WD towing camper trailers. It is not suitable for caravans due to the narrow road and the steep sections that have to be traversed.
This free camping area is located on the banks of Lake Mary Kathleen (Leichhardt River east branch). It is grassy with shade available. It has a boat ramp for the fishermen but no facilities whatsoever.. It is great for walking and taking lots of photo's.
To access the camping area:
Turn off the Barkly Highway at GPS -20.7171, 139.7805, follow the track and go through the gate. Approx 6km's from the GPS point, take the right track and follow it for another 2km until you reach the camping area/boat ramp.
