This free overnight rest area is named after former Shire President Peter Denny was killed in an accident on Mount Magnet-Sandstone Road in 1977. The views are a surprise, the lands falls away from you to expose some majestic rock formations and caves. It is sealed and has no amenities.

A free campground at the Peter Denny Lookout over the breakaways 30 km east of Sandstone with limited facilities.
Moderate to large gravel/dirt flat parking area with no shade. Facilities limited to bins and some seating. Absolutely no mobile or TV reception.
Suited as an overnight stay. Good views of the breakaway from the campgound. Fires are allowed but very little wood available on-site.

A very attractive break from the usual scrub you drive through in this part of the state. There are only the rubbish bins and tables but no other facilities. The views to the south are fantastic and worth the camera shot. The site is a on the main road but the traffic dies down after dark.
