Mystery Bay campground fronts the ocean and is one of the few natural camping areas remaining on NSW’s south coast. It is only a short distance off the Princes Highway, but could be a million miles from anywhere.

The area is quite large with camp sites scattered throughout the native bush of mainly spotted gums, with acacias and banksias closer to the spectacular cliff headlands and small beaches.

Mystery Bay is a sleepy coastal hamlet between Narooma and Central Tilba, with Eurobodalla National Park to the north and south.

The Mystery Bay turnoff is about 9 km south of Narooma, and 24 km north of Cobargo. Heading into Mystery Bay, the campsite is on your left.

  • Sites have room for vehicles of all shapes and sizes, but none are powered.
  • Cold showers.
  • Centrally placed water taps.
  • Pit toilets.
  • Firewood can be purchased on site.
  • Gas and ice available from nearby farm.
  • The closest supermarket is Narooma, although some provisions are available from Central Tilba.
  • Dogs allowed on leash and under control at all times.

Great camping spot by the beach. Fees $11 pp pn all sites unpowered and very shady under the tall spotted gums so if your relying on solar for power you will be hard pressed to find a sunny spot. There are a few drop loos scattered around and a cold shower block. Lots of interesting walks along the beach and up to the cliffs. Just a short drive to central tilba and Narooma both places not to be missed! Very popular spot throughout the year.

Team Tripigy has stayed here and we loved it. It has amazing views from the front campsites and has plenty of choices of sites including sunny or shady. It is great bush camping yet only 15 minutes away from Narooma where you can get your supplies. It has a two lovely swimming beaches at each end of the camping ground. Definitely recommend this spot.

We had a lovely couple of nights here with our 3 furkids. The beaches are great, Mystery Bay beach being dog friendly. The toilet facilities are good, better than a lot of highway stops. There was always a bit of a queue for the cold shower at the northern end, the southern end has 2 showers. We will definitely go back again.
