This site is now open for camping; however, there is still ongoing works to be completed after extensive flood damage. Please note, these works will not be completed until at least May 2022 and this is because it is currently bat mating season. The loud machinery will disrupt the bats and their habitat - December 2021.
Located on the banks of Manning River, you will find a this reserve at the end of Farquhar Street. It has a large grassy area for you to park.
It also has a jetty and boat ramp for you to launch your boat from or have a spot of fishing.
Here you will find toilets, water, disabled access, picnic tables, BBQ's dogs are permitted.
Stayed overnight. Great spot, right on the river. Friendly WAG Ron came by with local info. Donation box on site. Also leave receipts for money you spend in town.

Agree this is a great facility. Ron from the Wingham Appreciation Group comes down each afternoon and welcomes visitors with pamphlets and a wealth of knowledge. Toilets are open 24hrs and are clean. There is even active 240v power points at the BBQs.
The town is lovely too, good facilities and people are very friendly. The pub and golf club do low cost dinners $5 and $6 on weekends. And the serves are not stingy.
They ask you put your local shopping dockets in the yellow box and donations are appreciated

Nice location but a few problems. Semi permanent resident there attracting undesirables who were making noise (swearing at each other, doing burn outs etc. ) all night till early hours when we chose to leave. Toilets not clean. Unpleasant smell from flying foxes.

This is a great campsite next to the river, it has toilets which are locked at night and cleaned each morning. Just after happy hour you will receive a visit from a community volunteer who will welcome you to town and give you a rundown on the local attractions. The museum is worth a visit, what makes this place great is that it has community support.
