Leichhardt Lagoon Camping Park

Basically a bush setting camp on Leichhardt lagoon just west of the Norman River. Facilities were basic but sufficient. The area was dry and dusty while we were there. There were signs up warning of crocodiles and no swimming. Obviously some were settled in for a long camp but we only stayed one night. There is some shaded areas but mostly open.

We stayed at the Leichhardt lagoon from the 10th of June to the 13th. we found it had plenty of space. Facilities were good for a bush camp and the setting with views of the lagoon and birdlife excellent. On Saturday night the 11th the hosts presented a three course excellent bushcamp meal and some home made live entertainment for the price of just $6.00 per head. We had a great time and will return again sometime. Price per head was $8.00 per person per night. As a bush camp we give it a 4 star rating.

We enjoyed our couple of nights here, a lovely view of the lagoon. A typical Bush camp setting. Friendly hosts. However we missed the dinner as they had ceased the week before we arrived.

Lovely camp, good hot showers and loo, got some yabbies in the river, very nice and helpful caretakers, will be a must stop for me when I’m going past.

Generator city.A lot of generators. Wouldn't be my choice next time travelling past.
