Talbotville Campground

Free Camping - Victoria

Talbotville campground is part of the Grant Historic Area and is managed by DEPI. There are picnic tables, fireplaces and a drop toilet. It can be a busy area over the summer months and the Easter Long Weekend.

It is about an hours drive via McMillans Track and the High Plains Road to Dargo, a small township nestled in the hills with an iconic Pub and General Store. Dargo has fuel and provisions available.

It is an ideal base camp area to explore the Alpine National Park in a 4WD vehicle. It is an easy day's drive (return) to complete the iconic Blue Rag Range or Billy Goats Bluff Track. It is also possible to day trip into Wonnangatta Valley and return.  McMillan's Track is narrow in sections which can be a problem if towing and you meet a vehicle coming from the opposing direction. Take care.  There are currently no fees applicable to staying at Talbotville camping area.
