The camping ground is presently open, and is a great place to unwind, without breaking the bank! Cost of camping is $30 per night (2 adults/2 kids) Kids under 8 stay free. Two electric BBQs, open air cold showers (bore water) and toilets are available. The managers do not take bookings however groups are by prior arrangement only. Even at peak times, there is usually somewhere to squeeze in. Pets are allowed, but must be kept on a lead at all times. Fires are not allowed any time of the year (this includes fires in metal drums).

The campground managers (Reena & Lucas), will typically call by twice a day to collect camping fees and make sure everything is OK. The campground managers are available on 08 8598 3003 (just call later if there is no answer), but if you just want to know what the local weather is like, then please do not call them - check the BoM online.

Please be considerate of others camping at this fantastic site, as inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated, and you will be asked to leave. Please ensure that music and generators are turned off at a reasonable time in the evening to ensure everyone gets some rest.

This place is amazing. Has toilets, outside cold shower. The water is so beautiful if you enjoy having a swim. Plenty of room.

Rapid Bay is a huge RV parking area but has no potable water or dump point. There is a toilet block but on holiday periods is heavily patronised and the toilet block gets overloaded.

The description needs to be amended. The water is bore water and undrinkable, the public toilets are just that and very old. The manager. Is quite rude and because I followed the description shown in GeoWiki to just turn up and the fees would be collected evening and morning. I saw the manager collecting the bins late in the afternoon 4.00 when offering to pay I was basically abused for not phoning the manager prior to entering, despite the campground only being partially filled. Please update the info so that others won’t get the abuse.

At $12.50 pp and $7.50 per child is totally ‘Over Priced’ ... there is No Drinking Water, the ‘Shower’ is a lone head in the middle of the park and uses only Bore Water which is signed as ‘Non Drinking’ - Toilets are ‘Public’ and kept moderately clean. May be a ‘nice’ beach but with virtually no amenities most staying here are saying they would probably not return ... BTW the camp area is privately owned and the on site manager who Hi has been here 3 years but wont reveal who owns the property.

One of the best camping areas for families, evidenced by how many were here last night and having a great time. Caretakers come around dusk to collect fees and issue receipts. Toilet block would be overwhelmed by numbers using it. Cold water shower in middle of camping area for rinse off after swimming. Loved being here and now on favourites list. Nearest public dump point would be Yankalila. Cheers Ngaire
