This council camping area is permitted by council for self contained vehicles only and a maximum of 3 night stay. Payment for the permit can be made at the Port Lincoln Visitor Centre and Axel Stenross Maritime Museum. Only park in the designated area away from the boat trailer parking.
The stench from the sewage treatment plant is all pervading and the 15 degree slope is also not ideal. Nice view over the busy boat ramp though.
A bit on the nose as it backs onto the sewer works. But the view is stunning.
Designated camping area is at back of site along the fence. No level sites. Toilets can be found a short walk back up the road in day use area. Good views and interesting to watch the tuna and other fish being filleted at the cleaning table.
Great stop. Overlooking the water and Pt Lincoln
Seems to be popular site, angled parking, facing down the bay. Pelicans visit the ramp, awaiting for a feed. Depending on the wind, a smell can be present from behind the sites.
