Cobar is situated at the crossroads of the Barrier Highway and the Kidman Way. It is a historic town, based on the nearby mining and pastoral industries, close to several National Parks and the perfect place to stop and rest on your outback adventure. Our Caravan Park is the perfect place to pull in, take a break and rest in Cobar. Whether travelling north, south, east or west, Cobar provides the perfect stopover with the opportunity to “stay awhile” and experience all that Cobar has to offer.
Discover Cobar’s history at the renowned Great Cobar Heritage Centre or view the open-cut mine and Cobar’s surroundings from Fort Bourke Hill Lookout, the site of the town’s first gold mine. If you're bringing your van or tent, Cobar Caravan Park sites are pet friendly so your best canine mate can stay too.
We offer more than 100 powered sites with each surrounded by green grass, with plenty of space for you and your canine travelling companion. We also have on site cabins (sorry no pets) that are ideal for those travelling on business, an overnight stay, or for families undertaking an outback adventure. Under the management of Dineen Tourism Management since November 2011, Cobar Caravan Park has been transformed with a new reception, a landscaping program that included planting over 250 native plants, refurbishment of the amenities block, and twenty-six additional powered sites. New cabins and ensuite powered sites are also planned.
