Bakers Bend Fishing Spot

Free Camping - Queensland

Bakers Bend fishing spot on the Warrego River is one of the best camp sites along this river. The banks are grassy, the trees shady, and peace and quiet, well let's just say it doesn't come any better than this.

There are no amenities here, just you and the Warrego River.

There is no shortage of local fishing yarns about this spot, so why not head out, throw a line in and create your own. It will be something you will talk to your friends about for years.

Further information on this and other fishing locations in the Charleville area can be obtained by contacting the Charleville Visitor Information Centre. Please note: Riverbanks can become inaccessible and very boggy during and after wet weather for up to two weeks.

Travel 37 kilometres south of Charleville on the Cunnamulla Road, take a right hand turn and then travel five kilometres along a dirt track.

Local folklore states that this water hole has never gone dry. Plenty of great fishing yarns have originated from this site as well as tales of murder and mayhem during the early years of settlement. This is a wonderful camp site, the banks are grassy, there are huge shady trees and the peace and quite is a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
