The 48 hour free area for self - contained caravans and mobile homes is located at the Bishopsbourne Recreation Ground.

The dedicated free area is sign posted.

You must obtain a permit to stay overnight. Permits are FREE for up to 48 hours and are available 24/7 via a form on this website (see link below), with your permit number emailed to you immediately. Simply write your permit number on a piece of paper and display it on your dashboard. If you are unable to connect to the internet, call Council on 6397 7303 during business hours and we can assist you with a permit number. If you arrive after hours and require our assistance, please call first thing in the morning.

Self contained vehicles only. This means shower, washing, toilet, cooking, and sleeping must be contained WITHIN YOUR VEHICLE. No grey or black water, or other liquid is to be let out onto the ground, around trees, or into the river.

On a dry mid Summer day, the venue is brown and not very pretty. Has all needed though, for a pleasant overnight stop. During Spring and in a wetter season, this place would be a gem situated among the prime agricultural areas of Tasmania.

Grassy flat area for up to 8 rigs. Plenty of room for all size rigs to manoeuvre. Camp area is inside entrance fence to the local recreation ground-oval.
