Burnett Heads Lighthouse Holiday Park

Caravan Park - Queensland

Favourite

With a peaceful oceanfront location and small village atmosphere, our park offers a relaxing holiday. A unique location on the harbour just minutes from the Mon Repos turtle rookery and 15 minutes from Bundaberg's city centre, this is your tranquil escape where the ocean meets the Burnett River. Burnett Heads Holiday Park is a popular fishing paradise, with boat harbour and ramp. Why not take the time to visit Mon Repos - home to the largest concentration of nesting Loggerhead turtles in the South Pacific and the most accessible rookery on the Australia's East Coast. Loggerheads are an endangered species and successful breeding here is vital to their survival. Kick back and relax, choosing from a variety of powered or unpowered sites, slab or grass and newly renovated cabins.  Pets are welcome (at Manager’s discretion).

Unfortunately this park has been over run by its own success, and does not seem able to get its act together to get bookings in 2017 correct. Whilst the park is just fine and a nice place to stay they wont take bookings for a major part of the winter period and will not answer emails and when called will always want to ring back then not do so. Arriving adhoc you will have less than a 50/50 chance of getting in. All of July was less than 10 success. August is looking similar. As I said unfortunate as this can be a good spot to stay but spoilt by very poor management.

Spent 2 nights here in 21.5ft caravan. Sites are easy to reverse into. The facilities were sparkly clean and fresh. A great cycle trail runs past to Mon Repos Turtle Centre. Highly recommend this CP..

This is a clean, quite well managed park close to the port entrance, with unobstructed water views. Kangaroos graze on the grass strip between park and waters edge. Bird life is abundant and park is in walking distance to pub and shopping, IGA. There are beautiful walking trails along ocean front as well. The park was well spaced and many sites shaded. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
