Upper Davies Creek Campground - Dinden National Park

Camping is available at Lower Davies Creek camping area in Davies Creek National Park and further along Davies Creek Road at Upper Davies Creek camping area in Dinden National Park. Both are e-permit camping areas—all sites must be booked in advance.

There are limited facilities—campers must be self-sufficient. All camp sites are close to Davies Creek and water can be collected from the creek—remember to treat all water before use. Toilets are provided at both camping areas. Fires are allowed at the camp sites in Upper Davies Creek camping area (Dinden National Park), but only in the fireplaces provided. Firewood must not be collected from the parks. Fires are not allowed in Lower Davies Creek camping area (Davies Creek National Park).

Camping permits are required and fees apply. A tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.

Camping area features: sites are scattered along a stretch of Davies Creek in tall open forest.

Location: in Dinden National Park—10km along Davies Creek Road (3.8km past Lower Davies Creek camping area).

Access: four-wheel-drive or high clearance vehicles are recommended—the road is not suitable for caravans or large motorhomes.

Number of sites: eight separate and numbered sites.

Camp sites are suitable for: tents or camper trailer.

Camp site surface: dirt and sand.

Facilities: fire rings with hotplates and pit toilets—each toilet is shared between two adjacent camp sites.

Open fires: allowed (except when fire bans apply) in fire rings only. Firewood is not provided and must not be collected from the parks. Bring your own firewood and take any unused firewood home with you. Fuel stoves are recommended.

Generators: not allowed.

Essentials to bring: drinking water (or a water treatment system), rubbish bags, firewood or a fuel stove, comprehensive first-aid kit, insect repellent and sun protection. 

Bookings: book online, over-the-counter, or at a self-service kiosk or by phone. Bookings are essential and are required well in advance for these popular camp sites.
