Tranquil bush settings provide thoroughly enjoyable camping spots to base your journey. Just spark up the barbecues provided for a pre-adventure nibble, or savour a shady picnic spot.

From here you can easily access walking tracks to the water-streaked centrepiece that is Bald Rock’s dome - the largest exposed granite rock in Australia.  Don’t forget your bike helmet either; you’ll be traversing through a palate of brightly coloured flowering plants on the cycling trails, as they lighten the woodlands of this granite environment.

Activities: walking, mountain biking, road cycling, motor vehicle use, birdwatching, astronomy and star gazing, photography, picnics and barbecues

Getting there: Bald Rock campground is in the main visitor area Bald Rock National Park very close to Bald Rock. To get there: 29km north of Tenterfield on the sealed Mount Lindesay (Woodenbong) 
  • Road Access to the camping area and Bald Rock is via the sealed Bald Rock Road
  • From Stanthorpe take the road to Amosfield, and then turn south towards Tenterfield along the Woodenbong Road. 
Facilities: picnic tables, gas/electric barbecues (free), non-flush toilets, trackhead/access point, lookout, carpark, amenities block 

Water supply: Water is available at this campground – you’ll need to treat or boil it before drinking. 

Bookings: No bookings are taken for this campsite. A self registration system applies. Please pay at the park on arrival.
This campground was closed March 2019, probably due to recent fire activity.
