Expedition National Park offers a range of camping opportunities at Robinson Gorge on the east side of the park and at Lonesome and Beilba on the west side of the park. There are three campgrounds in total and various bush camping locations elsewhere in the park. Camping permits are required and fee apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite.   Lonesome section, on the west side of Expedition National Park, has one campground. 

Camping area features: alongside the banks of the Dawson River, this camping area is a grassy area surrounded by brigalow scrub and tall open forest. Please note that Dawson River does not have permanent water.

Location: located approximately 4km from the lookout, access to the camping area is via the Arcadia Valley Access Road and is approximately 500m from the road.

Access: the camping area can be reached by conventional vehicles. It is accessible for trailers, campervans, motorhomes and caravans.

Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites.

Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car; walk-in camping; caravans; camper trailers, campervans and motorhomes.

Camp site surfaces: grass.

Facilities: picnic tables, fire rings.

Open fires: allowed (except when fire bans apply) in fire rings only. Bring your own clean-milled firewood. Do not bring in or collect bush wood.

Generators: prohibited.

Essentials to bring: at least 7 litres of water per person per day (for drinking, cooking and washing), insect repellent, gas stove and fuel, and sealable containers for rubbish.
