Billabong Blue Sapphire Park and Campground

Private Campground - New South Wales

The fossicking park and campground has reopened with a new Office, shop and toilet complex in the park and upgraded facilities in the campground with further enhancements being planned including a bush shower block and camp kitchen. Swamp Oak also has a commercial sapphire mine operating and free range fossicking on the land and in the creek is permissible.  They hope to continue bringing enthusiastic fossickers the excitement of finding a nice sapphire whilst enjoying the great outdoors in a beautiful setting.

Billabong Blue has a large bush camping area which is 2wd accessible. There are flush toilets and shower stalls which can be used with your bush shower bags. Enjoy the birds and wildlife and count the stars in a peaceful setting. Campfires allowed (as long as there is no fire ban) and well behaved pets on a leash are permissible.

Cool off in the spring fed plunge pool after a hard days digging (or a relaxing day reading). See the commercial sapphire mine in operation. There is a small shop on site if you feel like a cappuccino, soft drink, water or snack. Raw and cut stones are for sale if you are looking for a nice gem stone for someone special.
