This is a fantastic free overnight rest area located on the river. It is now a mandatory 24 hour stay per council order. It is very large, grassy and offers plenty of shade if desired. It has toilets, picnic tables, fireplaces (BYO wood) and wood BBQ's. Dogs are permitted here.
We stayed here for 1 night, in January, 2018. Very pleasant spot. But the huge grassy area is now fenced off! If you’re there early, you might get a spot down near the creek. Otherwise you set up near the road, which can be a bit noisy with trucks zooming back & forth.

Have stayed here a number of times and always find it pleasant on the river. The road in has been re-gravelled however on the slope a large ditch has been scoured out so some care needed. Wasn’t over full however very dusty due to dry conditions. Plenty of reasonable flat spaces for all size rigs. No new photos as hasn’t changed since I was last here.

Clean toilets, grass mowed, surprised to find only two small tents as company. This camp has always been really busy on previous visits

We have stayed here many times an excellent camp especially if you have good company.

Rather crowded and dusty along the riverfront area, so stayed in the upper area to the right of the road in. Cool breezes here on a sweltering hot night. Enjoyed our stay.

Another great stay here. The lower area appears to have been resurfaced. Road in is good. Good for an overnighter.

Terramungamine Reserve Free Camp toilets tables and bins just north of Dubbo seems to be a popular spot, there is a short walking track along the river to the Grinding Grooveswhere the Aboriginals sharpened their tools over the centuries.

Would be a really good camp if the council actually cut the grass and gave it a little care. River is hard to access because of the long grass.

Stayed one night - quieter if you park near the river - close to the road can be noisy as some large trucks use the road at night. Lots of birdlife at sunset too.
Potential to be a great grassy stopover except when we were there mid Jan the grass had not been cut for ages and the weeds were over 2m high in places. steps to the river were heavy with dirt toilets are not lit at night and are not handy to either the upper or lower parking areas - access worse with no lights and long grass at night!!.
Actually went to the Council next day and showed them photos we took. Apparently it gets cut every 4 weeks on a roster but it really needs to be looked at every week and cut as often as needed as it reflects badly on Dubbos welcome to overnighters. (someone pinched the toilets solar panels no lights now!)
