Cape Palmerston Holiday Park

Caravan Park - Queensland

Cape Palmerston Holiday Park has been established on 63 acres, adjacent to the beach at the northern end of the Isaac Coast. The Park is situated 10 klms east of the Bruce Highway from Ilbilbie (turn at Service Station) and is accessed via all weather, sealed Greenhill Road. Cape Palmerston Holiday Park, set adjacent to a quiet, secluded beach, is a unique getaway isolated from the hustle and bustle of city life. The rural outlook towards the distinctive 344m Mt Funnel creates a relaxing atmosphere that lets you re-energise and reinvigorate. Kangaroos and wallabies graze the open grasslands whilst many species of birds inhabit the coastal woodlands. Caravans, RVs, motorhomes and campers are all warmly welcomed and encouraged to come and enjoy this largely undeveloped area.  Spacious drive-through sites make parking your holiday home trouble-free, allowing more time to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Beaches and birdwatching, fishing and crabbing, national parks and four-wheel-driving makes your stay as relaxing or as adventurous as you please.  Explore the islands of the nearby Northumberland Isles in the Coral Sea or just put down an anchor and lazily fish or snorkel the shoals. Take the nature walk through to the beach and either set up a towel and watch the gentle hypnotic waves roll in or beachcomb the tide line to Knobler’s Creek.  Get up early and watch the sun rise over the ocean or enjoy your sundowners with friends at your site while enjoying the sun setting over Mt Funnel.  A night time stroll to the beach through the nature walk will give you magical glimpses of the elusive fireflies that inhabit the area. The nearby Cape Palmerston National Park, accessed by 4wd either through the inland (dry weather only) or via the usual pleasant drive along the beach, is known to a select few as a perfect spot for sightseeing, 4wding, crabbing and fishing. Come and visit, you will be pleasantly surprised.

Immaculate grounds & amenities. 14 km Sealed road, gravel driveway in very good condition. Dog friendly beach. Some essentials available at reception. Kangaroos come in the afternoon. Sites are level. Had bad sandflies but still recommended, just take good repellent.

Love this place .. we have been coming here since 2014

The amenities are brilliant, quite new and always spotless. The camp kitchen is new and seems to be in the process of being fitted out but has sink, microwave, 4 burner BBQ, jug etc. The slab sites are all level and the concrete in good condition. There is a large grassed are with power and water connection available. The beach is about 200 metre walk and is very pleasant to walk on either side of low tide.

We came for one night and stayed for two, we would have stayed longer but had to get home. The staff were very friendly and the amenities were spotless. There was plenty of room on the large drive through sites, some people were staying for weeks and months, we will be back but will stay for longer next time.
