Clermont is located in the Isaac Region on the gentle slopes above Sandy Creek and Hoods Lagoon. The town is 106 km north of Emerald on the Gregory Highway and 760 km north of Brisbane. Clermont is a major hub for the large coal and gold mines in the region as well as serving agricultural holdings.

Management & Staff helpful. Amenities old but clean. Very busy park due to the number of coal miners staying here, so book ahead. Camp kitchen adequate and busy. A nice CP at a reasonable price.

Had an initial problem getting on to our site because the park staff member though he knew more about the turning circle of our motorhome than I do. Apart from that problem we found the park to be pretty good. Amenities were clean. The showers were hot & strong. The laundry has plenty of washers & dryers.

Not impressed at all! Tried to phone on several occasions through the day to book with no response. Arrived with no apologies but plenty of attitude and no suitable vacancies. We were pushed down to the remote camping area where services were well away with no grass but plenty of burrs. The closest amenities block was out of order and the next available on the other side of the park. Still charged full price though. Found out later that the free camp at the back of the BP servo was great and a much better proposition.

It would be an idea to book ahead as it is very popular with prospectors. We’d stay here again as an overnight stop.

Motor home friendly, dog friendly, spotless showers, toilets and laundry. Highly recommend, but book ahead a very busy park. great stay.
