We are pet friendly and offer the perfect centralised base whilst on your NT Visit. We are currently upgrading and renovating our camp grounds and during this period we are offering powered sites at an amazing discounted price of only $25 a night and unpowered for only $20. This is based on 2 adults per site.

We saw the deal offered by the Darwin River Tavern in the GeoWiki app as I was searching for somewhere to stay so we could explore Darwin. All of the van parks approaching Darwin wanted $40+ which would have meant only staying for a few days so when I read we could stay at the DRT for free if we are at the Tavern I reckoned it was a good deal. We’ve been at the Tavern for almost two weeks having visited Litchfield NP (~70k’s) and Darwin (~60 k’s) several times. The meals at the Tavern are really quite reasonably priced and of excellent quality, the owners are really lovely people who are very welcoming of travellers wanting to see our beautiful country on a budget. We feel so fortunate to be able to stay as the camping area is safe, albeit dry grass, as is almost every camping area at this time of year.

Enjoyed our time here, very welcoming staff. Unpowered sites are now free. Powered still $25. Very little shade.
