We found the town and the caravan park disappointing. We had visited Hahndorf 20 years ago en route to Kangaroo Island and remembered it as a charming and cosy little town with speciality food shops and cafs. It has been reinvented as a tourist trap with shops selling trinkets and ladies fashion. The traffic along the main street turns it into an unpleasant experience. We had been told that there was a new caravan site. It turned out that a lot of work has been done improving an old site. It sits on the side of a steep hill with the access road to the van sites snaking up and down the hillside. Sites have been levelled but still have gradients in two directions especially difficult for motor homes which do not have any easy way to be levelled. The amenities were at the top of the hill clean and in good order but surely a poor place to site them in this era of touring grey nomads.

Excellent caravan park with beautifully clean amenities and probably the largest camp kitchen I have even seen. A farmers market across the road is within easy walking distance; the Three Gums Bistro within the resort is open for lunch (Wed-Sun), dinner (Wed-Sat) & Breakfast (Sat-Sun). Lovely large sites, some drive-through (great for our 5th wheeler), many with views over the mountains. Friendly, helpful management and staff. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to others.

We needed a quiet location in a cabin due to a medical issue and this location was perfect. The studio cabin suited our needs and the price was right. It is a beautiful location on the side of the hill, there are drive through sites for larger caravans/motorhomes. For those without on board facilities, the walk to the amenities could be a challenge. Lots of ducks/geese and wildlife around. A beautifully re-purposed park in excellent taste. A short drive into the township.

Hard for us to get past the duck and goose droppings everywhere as there are a number of ponds and plenty of these birds around the park. Otherwise facilities were clean. We have children so found the playground and pool a little sunny as there are no shade cloths/shade options over the spaces themselves. Found Hahndorf a tourist trap.
