Bunyip Park Koolunga - SA RVFD

Bunyip Park is located in Koolunga, a small town situated in the mid-north of South Australia. The towns name is an Aboriginal word derived from the Ngadjuri tribe and means ‘red banks’, in reference to the banks on the Broughton River nearby. Today, Koolunga's main economy is derived from canola and cereal cropping, with sheep farming to a lesser extent.

Parking at Bunyip Park is available to travellers free of charge. For those wishing to access power and showers the cost to stay will be $10 per vehicle per night. Please note, a $15 applies for toilet key, and this can be paid to Koolunga Garage (08 8846 6003) or Koolunga Hotel (08 8846 6181).

A lovely shady free camp spot with great sealed road access via Red Hill. An excellent very clean flushing toilet and cold shower cubicle available. Power and a hot shower available for cost at the hotel. A short walk to the hotel where the very friendly locals made us most welcome and were more than happy to have a chat. A highly recommended stopover.

Lovely spot, safe, quite and friendly locals. Amenities and BBQ cleaned each day. There is not a lot of pressure in the shower but it’s hot and clean.
