Free parking is available at Bob Christensen Reserve for up to 96 hours for self-contained vehicles only. *A self-contained vehicle is a caravan or recreational vehicle that that has the capacity to retain all waste within the confines of the vehicle.  It is a large grassy area with shade available.  There is a boat ramp nearby.  Nice place to do some fishing or swim.

Directions to Bob Christensen Reserve are as follows:

  • From Visitor Information Centre, continue along Burton Street

  • Turn right at roundabout and continue on Dubbo Street out of town until you reach the QLD Cotton Gin on the left

  • Turn right at the Industrial Access Road

  • Continue until you reach Bob Christensen Reserve on the right           

If you are travelling in a caravan or RV there is a public dump point and potable water tap at Oxley Park on the Oxley Highway, Warren.

Large flat area beside the Macquarie River adjacent to farm land. Nice and peaceful. There are picnic tables and a small boat ramp. No toilets, water or rubbish bins. Has mobile phone coverage.

Shady trees with some tables and covers. Good enough for an overnighter with no facilities. Must be self contained.

Nice campsite with no facilities. Quiet, with a few locals driving in and out to look at the Wier. Be careful to stay on the road base when raining.
