Kerribee Park Rodeo Camping Grounds - QLD RVFT

Private Campground - Queensland

Due to the site being used for Savannah in the Round Country music festival and The Great Northern Bullriding Series, this site will close for general camping around October each year,

Kerribee Park Rodeo Grounds are open year round as a quiet camping ground for travellers and holiday makers (no permanent residents). From November to March the camping ground is also open to genuine seasonal workers.

The camping grounds offer:
  • Quiet, friendly atmosphere with room to move
  • Wild kangaroos grazing around the park
  • Over 100 powered sites
  • Plenty of unpowered sites
  • Gas hot showers Toilet/shower with disabled access
  • Public phone
  • Dump point (for campers only)
  • Laundry
  • Pets are permitted
  • Resident caretakers
  • No Bookings are taken for sites

Dogs are permitted, however they must be on a chain or lead and under the strict control of the owner at all times. All droppings are to be collected and disposed of by owners.

I suggest ringing ahead if you intend to stay here and ensure there isnt an event happening. The rodeo is the second largest in Australia and when we stayed they were starting to gear up for a 3 day field days. Also when in Mareeba be sure to visit the Heritage museum behind Tourist Information. For a free exhibition it is an incredibly professional piece of work. Highly recomended.

No reservations taken, plenty of camping spaces even during Rodeo, however, Rodeo week is a very busy noisy time, camp kitchen, 3 toilet blocks with 2 showers in each, washing machine & dryer $3.00 each. Dump point provided for patrons only. Fish & chips for sale Friday nights. 5.30 till 7.30pm. Bus available into Mareeba Leagues club by arrangement, also Dog sitter available in Mareeba (phone number on noticeboard)

Huge camp ground. power/water avail, but they advise it's not really for drinking. Clean toilets & showers. Dump pt. Not walking distance to town. Friendly caretakers who offer local attractions advice. Nice spot

Nice big area of flat grassy ground. Seems quite popular, so interesting to see if 2 male showers are sufficient in the morning. Plenty of water for washing, but drinking water is limited.

Big area with lots of sites both powered and unpowered. Volunteers are friendly and helpful. Water at sites not potable but everyone hooks up anyway. Potable water is available but only to fill containers not tanks. Numerous smelly campfires mean closing windows every night and there are dogs off leash. Good spot but better without fires.
